Abstract
Background: Complex construction of the physical self-image of teenager, it’s happened by thediscrepancy between ideal body and perceived body. Of here corporal dissatisfaction arises, great destroyerof self-steem. We want determine level of self-steem and of autoperception of corporal image. To know hisanthropometry and the relations of self-steem. Methods: It’s a question of a descriptive, transverse study.The sample was selected of students of 1 º and 2 º of ESO. The instruments used for the withdrawal ofinformation were the scales Rosemberg and the questionnaires KIDSCREEN-10, CAF and BSQ. We realized ananthropometry study for variables: weight, height and ÍMC.Results: The total sample was formed by 154 students (59,1 % boys 40,9 % girls) of the educationalcenters of Caceres. The average punctuations were: Rosemberg: 33,23 ± 4,6. BSQ: 49,73 ± 18,41.KIDSCREEN-10: 37,99 ± 2,95. Statistically significant differences didn’t exist as for the kind. We foundrelation between ROSEMBERG and BSQ (r =-0,392; .p=0,000). Conclusions: teenagers present a highautoesteem and don’t present alteration of corporal image. We have found relation between autoesteemand corporal image, to major self-steem, minor alteration of corporal image. There wasn’t relation with thecondition ponderal of global form. Though, in girls low weight was related to low self-steem.
