Abstract
Summary: Introduction: Starting over is repeated throughout the professional life of many individuals, being a different experience for each person. It is usual to detect gaps in training and difficulties in the integration of new people into new teams, so, over the last years in the Organización Sanitaria Integrada Eskerraldea Enkarterri Cruces, we have sought different tools that can help professionals in the acquisition of competences and in the transition to join the work teams. Objective: To favor the integration of people through an information-training program. Material and Method: Cross-sectional observational descriptive study; Population: newly incorporated professionals; Inclusion criteria: join the team over one month; Variables: interview, training, evaluation. Data collection: Excel, analysis by dynamic tables. Home study: May 2014, continues today. Results: We have 12 comprehensive reception trainings, 3 more started in May 2018. As of December 31, 2017, 598 people, 393 nurses, 191 Nursing assistants and 14 laboratory technicians have been enrolled in training. Quantitative evaluation 2014-2016: higher than 7 (scale 1-10), highlighting content and usefulness. Qualitative assessment, the most positive treatment, concern tutors, content and convenience of doing it online. Aspects to improve: contradictions between notes and test evaluation, including specific topics, face-to-face training and videos. Assessment of the overall process: highlights overall satisfaction, reception by the supervisor, course content and follow-up (scale 1-6). Supervisors are satisfied with the value provided by the reception and training. Discussion: this proposal favors the acquisition of skills for new professionals, having an immediate impact on patient care, and contributing to a better adaptation to the job. Conclusions and implications for the practice: We will continue making progress in welcoming new staff with training that will facilitate the acquisition of specific skills in the area of incorporation. We have to improve the procedure and the evaluation in all the formations that allow us to improve the needs of the professionals.
